June 20 Chuck of the Week: Sad Chuck

Rock chucks seem to be a happy species, a sassy species. But I guess they have their hard days, too.

Jack Dollarhide described this rockchuck as “sunbathing” on his Redmond driveway, soaking up some of that sensational Central Oregon sunshine. But look closely at his eyes. Is he carefree? Or is he burdened by all the cares in all the world? We regret to think the latter may be correct. It must have been a hard day for this mopey marmot.

But cheer up Sad Chuck! Just by getting through the week, you’ve earned the Spokesman’s “Chuck of the Week” honor. Congratulations and get back to eating your weight in veggies and acting sassy.
