- Phuoc Van Le and his 9-month-old baby girl, Rosie Trinh Le, sit in one of the pedicure chairs at Rosie Nails and Spa, the family's new business on 6th Street in downtown Redmond.
Phuoc Van Le came to Central Oregon about six years ago and worked for a local Redmond nail salon. Now he has decided to go out on his own, opening a new salon downtown named after his nine-month-old baby, Rosie.
Rosie Nails and Spa, located at 427 SW 6th St., will open Feb. 20. Le said he is excited to bring his experience and expertise in the nail salon business to Redmond, where he plans to offer a variety of services including manicures, pedicures and waxing.
“I see we have a lot of nail salons around here, and they offer very good service. But I don’t see they offer the best,” Le said. “I wanted to provide a different type of experience.”
Le said he hopes to offer a bit more luxury to those who drop in to Rosie’s. He also noted there will be a 20% discount to customers for the first week his shop opens.
The salon will be run by Le and his wife, Ro Thi Ngoc Trinh, and include four state-of-the-art pedicure chairs with full-body massage capabilities, four ventilated manicure stations and a waxing room in the back, Le said. He said there will be snacks and refreshments for guests.
Le said the shop provides special parking in the back of the salon for elderly clients and people with disabilities.
“I have some clients that complain about parking downtown … so I came up with an idea to reserve one parking space for senior people or people with disabilities so they can park in the back door and walk straight in,” Le said. “To make it more convenient.”
Le said he hopes his high-quality products set him apart, as well as a plan to donate $1 to charity for every client who comes in the door.
Le said he chose to move with his family to Redmond because it was more business friendly. He said the community has proven to be more welcoming and less chaotic than the Bay Area, where he was prior.
