Having read the article regarding “Tense election divides Sheriff’s Office” I am compelled to comment.

We were quite fortunate to have William Bailey as our guest speaker at a recent Kiwanis lunch. He spoke for at least a half hour. His knowledge, experience and compassion was delivered in a thorough, yet concise manner.

Just as, or maybe more importantly, I sensed a calm demeanor, especially when asked some tough questions. Mine was one: Redmond drivers do not recognize red lights and the north end of town is a speedway any given night. Recognizing that isn’t the Sheriff’s jurisdiction, but all law enforcement was on the table.

I left feeling very informed and satisfied that William Bailey has my vote.
