It’s hard to believe it’s been a full year since the Redmond Senior Center launched its Wellbeing Series — and what a year it has been. Since May 2024, this monthly program has blossomed into something truly special, offering seniors an ongoing journey of education, connection, and empowerment—all at no cost to them.
With the generous sponsorship of St. Charles Medical Center, we’ve been able to provide this program completely free to our community, and the response has been nothing short of inspiring. Seniors regularly tell us how grateful they are to have access to such valuable information and support, right here at their local senior center.
“I look forward to Wellness Wednesdays every month,” said one participant. “It’s not just educational—it’s uplifting. I always leave feeling better than when I came in.”
Over the past 12 months, we’ve explored a wide range of topics, each one thoughtfully chosen to support the wellbeing of our aging community:
May – Mental Health
June – Brain Health
July – Social Wellbeing
August – Self-Care
September – Fall Prevention & Home Safety
October – Cancer Awareness
November – Alzheimer Awareness & Hospice
December – Grief Awareness
January – Eye Care & Vision Health
February – Heart Health
March – Nutritional Health
April – Stress Awareness
With each topic, we’ve welcomed expert speakers, hosted lively Q&A sessions, and offered tools to support real, everyday wellness. The excitement among participants has grown month after month—our room is always buzzing with energy, curiosity, and appreciation.
To deepen the journey, we also introduced the Wellness All Year Journal. This custom-designed guide helps attendees track their personal progress, reflect on monthly lessons, and stay mindful about their health in between events.
But the true heartbeat of the program? Our seniors.
Their engagement, laughter, and heartfelt “thank-yous” remind us why this series matters. Whether it’s a moment of clarity during a talk on Alzheimer’s or a smile shared during a discussion on social wellbeing, the impact is real—and deeply felt.
And we’re not stopping here.
As we look to the future, we’re expanding the series and continuing to build on this momentum. Don’t miss our two monthly events:
2nd Wednesday – The main Wellness Topic Talk, featuring guest speakers and valuable health education.
4th Wednesday – Wellbeing Connect, an interactive session that ties it all together: recapping recent topics, highlighting the current theme, and previewing what’s ahead.
So, join us — bring a friend, bring your questions, and bring your curiosity. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are stepping in for the first time, you’re part of something powerful.
Here’s to one incredible year of wellbeing — and many more to come!
