Male athletes of the week

Trae Bolken, Jacob Curry, Austin Hill and Jacob Brauchler, Redmond wrestling — Though Redmond lost overall to three-time defending Class 4A state champion Crook County 46-21 Feb.3, Panther wrestlers came away with several wins. Bolken (106 pounds) pinned Jesse Gore, Curry (113 pounds) beat Tucker Shores, Hill (195 pounds) pinned Gage Robinson and Brauchler (285 pounds) defeated Brogan Howard.

Female athlete of the week

Brittany Smith, Redmond swimming — Redmond lost its Feb. 4 R-Town Rivalry meet to Ridgeview, but Smith, a senior, finished first in the 200-meter freestyle and 100 backstroke. She also was part of the victorious 200 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams.

Game of the week

Girls basketball, Ridgeview 61, Redmond 56 — The Ravens (7-13 overall, 4-4 Intermountain Conference) held off Redmond (3-14, 0-7) for a 61-56 victory Feb. 5. Sailor Woodward led Ridgeview with 23 points.

What to watch for

Swimming — Going into the district meet Friday and Saturday in Bend, both Redmond and Ridgeview have swimmers hoping to get to state.
