Drivers should expect delays as ODOT construction crews repave and widen Highway 126 between Redmond and Powell Butte.

Traffic is expected to be reduced for about four weeks to a single lane about 3 miles east of Redmond starting Feb 3. The lane reduction is expected to move about seven miles west in March.

The construction project on the eastern edge of the city of Redmond will also include ADA curb ramp upgrades, sidewalks, an improved pedestrian crossing, bus stop, and stormwater improvements.

Signage and striping will also be upgraded throughout the project. A new TripCheck camera will also be installed at the intersection of Highway 126 and Powell Butte Highway.

Crews will also start by expanding the North Unit canal bridge three miles east of Redmond next week. Crews will start work on the Central Oregon Irrigation District canal bridge about 10.5 miles east of Redmond will start in March. Crews will also add new bridge rails and guardrails on those crossings.

The $13.6 million project is expected to finish in May.
