At Cinderella Bride Boutique, you will find more than wedding dresses.
The aptly-named boutique does appear to be something out of a fairytale, complete with twinkling lights and even a glass slipper. The vintage and vintage-inspired items that line the shop are all hand-selected by owner Vida Snyder.
Snyder said she has been buying and collecting items for years with the intention of someday opening a store. After a year of planning and finding the right location, Snyder opened the doors Jan. 9. The shop is located 615 SW Cascade Ave. in downtown Redmond.
In addition to selling bridal gowns, jewelry, shoes and veils, Cinderella Bride Boutique also rents and sells assorted collectibles and decorative items.
“It’s all inventory that I have collected with the sole purpose of someday doing something,” Snyder said.
Snyder enjoys finding new pieces to include in her shop and arranging displays, she said.
When asked, Snyder says she is not going to go into consignment because she enjoys picking out her own inventory.
“I’m always looking, and if I love it, if there’s an emotional attachment, if the price is right, if it’s excellent, I pick it up,” she said.
Snyder, who currently owns and operates the store by herself, says it is rewarding to get to work with her customers and help them find exactly what they need. Snyder describes her collection as eclectic, as it includes both new and pre-owned items.
Snyder’s passions include creating vintage masks, which she also sells at the boutique. Snyder said she also hopes to one day get into wedding designing and planning. Snyder explains that owning the boutique allows her to delve into wedding planning, which she hopes to do more of in the future.
“It’s challenging but the real work isn’t even trying to make it all happen,” said Snyder. “The real work begins once you get in here.”
