Eldon F. Ridgeway

June 5, 1933 – October 10, 2021

Died Oct. 10th 2021 at home in Prineville surrounded by loved ones.

Eldon was born in Prairie City OR June 5th 1933 to Harvey and Vera Ridgeway. He was #5 of 6 kids. He talked very fondly of his childhood and had non stop stories he could tell with great enthusiasm. As a young boy he loved horses. He saddle-broke many horses and rode in rodeos. He joined the U.S. Army in 1953 until 1955, serving in the Korean War as a P.F.C. He married Nancy Roundy after his service and they had 3 kids.

Eldon was a life time V.A. member and he enjoyed hunting, golfing, and watching football. He especially liked attending his grandkids’ sporting and other events. His grandkids brought out the best of him.

He worked for Weyerhauser for many years then went to work in cement construction. When retired, they returned home to his beloved Central Oregon and old stomping grounds. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Nancy, son Eldon Jr., (Butch), his parents, 3 sisters, and a brother

He is survived by daughter, Roxane Slaven (Rick) in Prineville, Terri Johnston-Miller (Glenn), in Pleasant Hill, brother Kenneth in Sparks, Nevada, 6 grandkids, 13 great-grandkids, 5 great-great-grandkids and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later time at Gray Butte Cemetery.
