Little Women

The Redmond High Theatre Company is performing “Little Women,” based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott and adapted by Kevin Cunningham.

Show times 7:30 p.m. at Redmond High from Nov. 4-5 and Nov. 10-12, with a matinee featuring the understudy cast at 2 p.m. on Nov. 12.

The play follows the four sisters of the March family, who live in Concord, Mass. with their mother, Marmee, while their father is on the Civil War battlefield. Filled with adventure, heartbreak and a sense of hope. The struggle of these “Little Women” to find their own voices mirrors the growing pains of a young America.

The script by Kevin Cunningham provides the blueprint for a traditional retelling. A framing device of readers from different eras, added by RHS Theatre Director Hilda Beltran, celebrates Alcott’s legacy.

The estimated performance run time is 120 minutes, including a 15 minute intermission. Tickets prices are $5 for students, $8 for seniors and $12 for all others. Tickets can be purchased online at https://redmondhs.seatyourself.biz. This show is recommended for ages eight and up.
