From open-air food truck lots to downtown Bend’s inviting patios and Redmond’s newly launched concept social club with an off-leash area, there is no shortage of pet-friendly patios across Central Oregon.

In Bend, there are almost 100 pet-friendly restaurants according to BringFido, a dog travel directory with reviews by pet owners.

Below are five dog-friendly dining establishments that stand out above the rest, with a list of honorable mentions.

J-DUB

J-DUB in downtown Bend offers its canine customers their own menu complete with nutritional information.

The five options on the pup menu include a grilled chicken and sweet potato mash bowl ($4) made with the same sweet potato waffle fries on the regular menu, served sliced and unseasoned with plain grilled chicken.

The menu notes sweet potatoes are rich in Vitamin A, important for dog eye health and immune systems.

Along with a pup patty and house-made peanut butter banana doggie biscuit, J-DUB’s custom “pooch hooch” ($2 for 8 ounces, $3 for 12 ounces) allows fido to enjoy a special refreshment. The house-made “dog beer” is non-carbonated, nonalcoholic and made with beef, malt and added glucosamine for healthy joints.
