Brand 44 N brings breakfast tavern to Terrebonne

The owners of the Pump House, a staple of the Terrebonne restaurant scene, have branched out into breakfast.

Danielle Fuller and Kayla Jeffries recently opened Brand 44 N Tavern at 8060 11th St, the former home of Base Camp Pizza.

They won’t just be serving bacon-and-eggs. Brand 44 has a tavern feel — and a stocked bar — that can add a little spike to a brunch order.

“We think it’s the perfect combo” said Fuller.

The duo plans to operate from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday through Mondays. Their menu includes fresh-baked pastries as well as other traditional breakfast items.

Fuller and Jeffries met while working at The Hideaway, a sports bar in Bend, and bonded over their shared dream of opening a restaurant.

Fuller is a Terrebonne native and spent her career in the restaurant industry and honed her pastry skills at the Bend bakery Nancy P’s. Jeffries has been in Oregon since the 1990s and said she wanted Brand 44 N to have a fun, friendly atmosphere and be a place to “forget about the difficult few years everyone has gone through.”

Their dream became a reality after they purchased Terrebonne’s beloved Pump House in 2020 and just a month later, the building that would become Brand 44 Tavern. The Pump House is a longtime establishment in Terrebonne, so they both decided to hold fast to tradition. They saved their creativity and passion for Brand 44 N.

“We wanted it to feel right and be something we truly believed in,” said Fuller.

It took three years to open Brand 44 and for the owners was challenging, involving sweat, tears, and money.

Their biggest hurdle was working with Deschutes County on the site plans, which dated back to 1970. Their biggest hurdle was working with Deschutes County on parking requirements for the business.

Once that agreement was hammered out, the duo got to work on a renovation.

“Almost every piece of the place was falling apart, we knew it needed a lot of work,” said Fuller.

The women started construction in 2022, as costs of building goods and construction soared. Fuller put her life savings into this business, there was no fall back plan.

“This project pushed me harder than anything I’ve ever done in my entire life,” said Fuller.

The pair had the help of friends and family and invited local ranchers and farmers to add their brands to the back bar wall. The interior of the tavern is now cozy, with antler chandeliers, moody dark gray walls, and local art displayed (and for sale). The owners wanted to give it the feel of somewhere that could be featured in a Yellowstone episode. They both commented on wanting their restaurant to feel comfortable and inviting, “like a tavern but upscale”.

The menu includes staples like a rancher’s special from 6-8 a.m. that includes coffee, two eggs, meat of your choice, hash browns or potatoes, and a slice of bread, for $10. The rest of the menu and bar are open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday through Monday.
