Calling all high rollers: Avelo Airlines took off from

Redmond for the first time on

Sept. 7, bound for the bright lights of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas is Avelo’s fourth nonstop route from Redmond Airport, joining three California destinations: Los Angeles, Palm Springs and Sonoma/Santa Rosa.

This route, using a Boeing 737, will operate twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays. Avelo sold all 149 seats aboard the inaugural flight on Sept. 7. The number of tickets sold on early flights prompted Avelo to add extra flight dates through the winter holidays.

To celebrate the new routes, Avelo is offering one-way fares start at $49. Customers can purchase tickets online.

Airport Director Zachary Bass said they are “thrilled to offer the nonstop Las Vegas route.”

“Avelo Airlines has been a great partner in establishing new destinations, and we are excited to see what the future will bring,” he said.

The discount airline has been one of the most reliable flights in and out of Redmond. Avelo ranks first for completion factor (meaning the airline cancels the least number of flights) and second in the U.S. for year-to-date, on-time performance.
