Alice Christian Dormer Girard

Alice Christian Dormer Girard passed away on December 30, 2022, at the age of 86, in Bonney Lake, Washington. Alice was born in Castle Rock, Colorado on October 23, 1936, to Richard and Alice Carlton. She moved to Eugene, Oregon as a young child and spent most of her life there. She graduated from Eugene High and attended the University of Oregon. She married Frank Girard on February 28,1958 and raised their family there.

Alice was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and friend. She was strong and supportive and had a special way of making the best of tough situations. She was very creative and had many hobbies including sewing, knitting, reading, gardening, camping and the outdoors.

After leaving Eugene, Frank and Alice lived in Portland and then retired at Crooked River Ranch. She made many friends there and enjoyed exploring the area with Frank. They enjoyed having family spend time with them, and her grandchildren have many special memories of summers spent with her in her home at Crooked River Ranch.

Alice is survived by her children and their spouses; Mike and Elaine Girard, Don and Mary Girard, Barb and Wayne Smith, 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Everett Dormer and her loyal companion Benji.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Girard and their son, William Dean Girard.

Services will be held in the Spring in Redmond, Oregon with a date to be announced in the future.
