Toastmasters open house set for Nov. 7

Toastmasters of Redmond will hosts its semi-annual open house from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at the group’s weekly meeting place at the Church of Christ, 925 NW 7th St.

Toastmasters are not affiliated with the church, but are granted space. Anyone interested in improving their speaking and presentation skills, as well as their self confidence, is welcome to observe a sample meeting and meet the members of the group.

The meeting will consist of a speaker, evaluator for the speaker, and a table topics master present at the meeting.

Toastmasters is a worldwide organization that began in California in the 1920s. The Redmond group has met for more than five years and has approximately 22 members. They meet at noon every Tuesday at the church.

The group works to have fun together, welcome newcomers and try to make public sepaking as painless as possible for members and guests.
