New exhibits planned for Central Oregon ag show

The Central Oregon Ag Show will take over the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center in Redmond on Saturday and Sunday, April 6-7.

In addition to all of the latest ag equipment and services, there will be demonstration of working dogs, antique equipment and other features.

New for 2024 is the Small Farm School. Sponsored by Oregon State University Extension, Deschutes Soil and Water Conservation District, High Desert Food and Farm Alliance and the School of Ranch, the school will cover classes and roundtable discussions on all things farm-related. Water rights, agri-tourism, raising poultry, beekeeping, horse health and soil health are just a few of the topics.

Also this year, the High Desert Stampede will kick up some dust, so folks can attend the ag show and head into the rodeo.

This year’s title sponsor for the Northwest and Central Ag Shows is Coastal Farm & Ranch.

The shows “are great places to see old friends and meet new ones,” according to Annie Long.
