Trainor: Comical improvement

Flip ahead to page A10 — go ahead, I’ll wait. Yep, that’s right — a full page of comics and puzzles is back in the Redmond Spokesman.

Some of the most consistent feedback we’ve received since we brought back the paper is how much people missed a funny, consistent comics page. And they wanted more room to do their crosswords and work out their sudoku.

For a lot of subscribers, the comics and puzzles are their favorite part of the print product. Its a great memory of the Sunday comics for many of our — shall I say, our more “experienced” readers. And it offers some throwback, retro nostalgia for younger folks who live the most of their lives in a digital world.

Let us know what you think about it. If something doesn’t look right or play right — or you think there are other ways to improve the page — send me an email at ttrainor@redmondspokesman.com or call 541-548-3203.

If you crack a smile or get stumped by a fun puzzle, let us know about that, too. Good feedback (though exceedingly rare these days!) can be helpful, too, and can help ensure something you like remains part of the paper going forward.

While you’re flipping through pages, head all the way to the back and check out A12 as well.

Since this week’s edition was published on the Fourth of July, we thought it’d be nice to be able to have something to hold up during the parade or tape to a window, either this year or next.

Redmond is Flag City USA after all.
