Barbara Anne Williams
October 8, 1946 – June 20, 2024
Barbara Anne Williams (née Speck), beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away in her sleep early in the morning on June 20, 2024, at the age of 77. Barbara was born on October 8, 1946, in Nebraska and from that day forward, she filled the world with her kindness, warmth, and unconditional love for others.
“Grandma Barb” was a pillar in her community. Her life was marked by a deep commitment to her family and a dedication to helping others. She was a mother and a grandmother to many in the community beyond her direct descendants. She was a graduate of Redmond Union High School Class of 1965 in Redmond, Oregon and worked for Vern Patrick at Cent-Wise and at the Odem Medo Drive-in Theater throughout her high school years. Her love for her family was unparalleled. She was a devoted mother to Jenny and Jim, and a doting grandmother to five granddaughters; Courtney, Jessica, Dorinda, Shaeneea, and Lily. Barb cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, whether it was during holiday gatherings at her little house in Terrebonne, family vacations, summer days with her grandkids playing in her backyard pool, and simple everyday moments. Her home was always a place of warmth, laughter, and love… and where she made the best waffles ever.
Barb was a steadfast smiling face at Ferguson’s Market in Terrebonne, where she worked since 1977. She was known for doing just about every job in the store. She “worked harder than anyone and we always had to kick her out,” said Tonya Lunsford. Adding, “She is community to this store.” Her legacy will be carried on through the many lives she touched and the memories she created there. Never planning to be off work for long, Barb’s goal throughout her cancer journey was always to return to her shifts. Her name was never taken off the schedule, and Tonya said they’ll keep her name at the top of the schedule for as long as they own the store. To all who knew Barb through the store, know she loved each and every one of you, coworkers, customers, and all.
“Grandma Barb” is survived by her children, Jenny Wareham (Craig) and Jim Williams, her grandchildren, Courtney Gallant-Bathke (Sam), Jessica Larson (Brett), Dorinda Tugwell (Joe), Shaeneea Whitehall (TJ) and Lily Williams, her great-grandchildren, Bridgett, Brooklynn, Brasen, Carsen, Anderson, Braylee, Dawsen, Althea, and a great-granddaughter due in July, Haizley, her siblings, Laurel and Mike Speck, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Meredith and Charles Speck, and her siblings, Kevin, Kent, and Kirby Speck.
A celebration of life will be held at the Terrebonne Grange on Saturday, July 20th at 11am. Roses are welcome as they were Barb’s favorite. The family requests that donations be made to Partners in Care Hospice, who tended to Barb in her final days.
“Grandma Barb” will be remembered for her unconditional love and care for others. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her light will shine on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be dearly missed by so many.
