Redmond Farmers Market set to return Friday

The Redmond Farmers Market is set to return on Friday, back for a second year under new management.

Last year, sisters Emma Meyers, Meg Meyers and Lily Lapp decided at the last minute to organize and direct the operation in 2024.

Emma Meyers said in that breakneck first year, she realized just how much she “loved doing it” and said there was no doubt the trio would return bigger and better in year two.

Meyers said this year the market will return earlier in the calendar than in past years, allowing it to operate in cooler spring weather and concentrate for a few weeks on plant starts.

Friday, May 2 is opening day. The market will then operate from 3-7 p.m. every Friday through the summer harvest season, except for August 1. Once again, the market will be located at Centennial Park in front of Redmond City Hall.

Meyers said this year the market will include a kids yoga class each Friday from 3:30-4 p.m., led by The Slow Season Yoga, who specializes in youth activities. The by-donation classes are geared toward youth ages 3-7, but those younger and older are welcome to attend.

There will be music at the market from 5-7 p.m. every Friday, with a rotating cast of local strummers and singers.

Meyers said there will be more vendors and farms confirmed for this year’s market, and she said that shoppers will notice a family-friendly atmosphere. Also new for 2025, shoppers will be able to use SNAP benefits to purchase market tokens. Last year, Meyers said they were unable to accept SNAP cards.
