Levain Bakery has a year full of exciting announcements and collaborations in honor of its 30th anniversary.

NEW YORK, March 31, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Levain Bakery, home to New York City’s most famous cookies, is excited to celebrate its 30th anniversary this year. The iconic bakery was born when best friends Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald opened a small bread shop on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in 1995. Three decades later, Levain has cemented its reputation for baking the most irresistible six-ounce cookies, expanding to 16 locations nationwide.

To celebrate this milestone anniversary, Levain is rolling out a series of exciting launches: the return of fan-favorite cookies, exclusive brand collaborations, and highly anticipated new bakery openings in Venice and Beverly Hills, California, as well as Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood.

“We can hardly believe it’s been 30 years already! What started as our tiny bread bakery has grown into something beyond our wildest expectations. It has been incredible to watch Levain grow while remaining a neighborhood bakery,” said Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald, co-founders of Levain Bakery.

THE LEMON COOKIE RETURNS

To kick off the 30th year, Levain has brought back its fan-favorite Lemon Cookie. Since its seasonal debut in 2024, the Lemon Cookie has been one of Levain’s most requested flavors. The cookie is generously sprinkled with lemon chips, offering a zesty, citrusy fusion with just the right touch of sweetness. Capturing the essence of spring in every bite, the Lemon Cookie is now available online and at all Levain Bakery locations.

EXCLUSIVE 30TH ANNIVERSARY COLLABORATIONS

Levain’s bespoke collaborations begin with a capsule collection designed by Dinner Service NY. Known for its creative collaborations, Dinner Service NY has worked with hospitality, music, and creative partners to create clothing capsules that are as memorable as the experience they embody. The collection fuses Levain’s nostalgic charm with Dinner Service NY’s story-driven and sustainable fashion. The lineup features a vintage-inspired ringer tee, a cozy striped crewneck sweatshirt, and a chore jacket that’s effortlessly cool and timeless. The collection is available via Levain’s website, along with a limited supply available at all Levain Bakery locations.

Additional 30th anniversary announcements will be shared throughout this year, including a book that will detail the Levain story. More information will be shared soon about these exciting moments honoring three decades of Levain.

THOUGHTFUL NEIGHBORHOOD EXPANSION

Levain is also expanding in two of its existing markets this year, with a new bakery coming to Venice, California on April 4. The Venice bakery, located at 1661 Abbot Kinney Boulevard, will be Levain’s second California location, marking a significant milestone for Levain’s west coast presence. Additionally, Levain will open a third California location in Beverly Hills, and a third Chicago location in Lincoln Park later this year. Details for new bakeries will be announced closer to the grand openings.

Levain Bakery invites longtime fans and those just discovering Levain to join in on the festivities and experience these new offerings throughout the year. For more details and the latest 30th anniversary updates, follow @levainbakery.

About Levain Bakery

Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald founded Levain Bakery – pronounced luh.VEN – in 1995 as a small bread shop on the Upper West Side of New York City. After training for triathlons, the founder duo started baking six-ounce cookies with simple, high-quality ingredients as the ultimate post-race treat. After finalizing the recipe, the cookie flew off the bakery shelves. 30 years later, with 16 current bakery locations, Levain is often lauded as the home of the world’s best cookie. In addition to local delivery and nationwide shipping, Levain Bakery also offers catering services in select markets to help make any event sweeter.
