The Central Oregon Veterans Ranch recently announced the appointment of Heather Martin as its new executive director, Zachary Bass as its new board president and Angela Jones as its new vice president.

This leadership transition marks a step in the organization’s mission to serve and support veterans in Central Oregon through agriculture, peer support, and a strong sense of community.

Martin brings extensive experience in business operations, grassroots advocacy, and community engagement. She has led largescale fundraising initiatives, forged strategic partnerships, and championed outreach efforts across multiple industries. Active in local organizations such as EDCO and City Club of Central Oregon, she has become a recognized figure in the Central Oregon community.

Martin’s connection to the veteran community is deeply personal. She is the granddaughter of a veteran who ultimately succumbed to the pressures of PTSD after not receiving the care he needed, the sister of a veteran who has navigated service-related challenges, and the mother of a currently deployed U.S. Marine. She has witnessed firsthand the struggles faced by those who serve. These experiences have fueled her commitment to ensuring that every service member has a safe place to heal, connect, and find purpose after their military career.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Heather on board,” said Zachary Bass, board president. “Her unique blend of operations expertise, grassroots advocacy, and personal connection to the military community makes her the ideal person to lead this organization into the future.”

The Central Oregon Veterans Ranch is a 19-acre working ranch outside Redmond dedicated to the well-being of veterans from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. For more information, contact Heather Martin at (541) 706-9062 or heatherm@covranch.org.
