Central Oregon basketball teams get ready for state playoff games

Several Central Oregon high school basketball teams are preparing for state playoff games this week.
The boys and girls Class 5A state playoff brackets are not yet set, as some conferences still have regular-season games through Tuesday.
In 5A girls basketball, Intermountain Conference-champion Redmond (19-5, 10-0) as well as Summit (8-2, 19-6) and Caldera (6-4, 14-10) will have first-round state playoff games on Friday, time and location to be determined.
In 5A boys basketball, IMC-champion Summit (8-2, 17-8), as well as Redmond (8-2, 19-6) and Caldera (7-3, 17-7) will play first-round playoff games on Saturday, time and location TBD.
The Summit boys — the reigning 5A state champions — clinched the IMC championship with a 69-53 defeat of Ridgeview on Friday night. The Class 5A boys and girls state tournaments are set for March 12-15 at Linfield University in McMinnville.
In Class 4A girls basketball, No. 8 Crook County will host No. 9 Astoria in a first-round playoff game on Friday at 7 p.m.
In Class 4A boys basketball, No. 4 Crook County will host No. 13 Hidden Valley in a first-round playoff game on Saturday, time TBD. No. 6 Madras will host No. 11 Scappoose on Saturday, time TBD. The Class 4A boys and girls state tournaments are set for March 13-15 at Forest Grove High School.
In Class 3A, the No. 14 Sisters boys fell to No. 3 Valley Catholic 44-43 on Saturday in a second-round playoff game.
In Class 2A girls, No. 16 Trinity Lutheran lost to No. 1 Stanfield 63-28 on Friday night in a first-round playoff game.
The No. 4 Trinity Lutheran boys are headed to the Class 2A state tournament in Pendleton after defeating No. 13 Crosshill Christian 59-36 in a second-round playoff game on Saturday. The Saints will open the tournament against No. 5 Regis on Thursday at 3:15 p.m in a quarterfinal game.
