Construction topped out Feb. 28 at the 53,000-square-foot St. Charles Cancer Center in Redmond.
According to Skanska, who is leading construction of the project, completion of the building’s structural framework is a “significant milestone.” Both the steel and mass timber framework are now complete.
Once finished, the cancer center will serve up to 300 patients per day, offering radiation oncology, chemotherapy infusion, surgical oncology, and expanded support services. The center is nine times the size of the current Redmond facility. It will also include a 5,000-square-foot chemotherapy infusion site, a linear accelerator for radiation therapy, and dedicated space for nutrition, massage, acupuncture, and other care services.
“We are incredibly proud to reach this milestone in the construction of the St. Charles Cancer Center,” said Todd Predmore, Senior Vice President-Account Manager for Skanska USA Building in Oregon, in a release. “Topping out represents a major step toward making this vision a reality — one that will provide life-saving treatments and holistic support for patients across Central Oregon.”
Construction on the St. Charles Cancer Center remains on track for completion in March 2026.
