A shooting incident at a Redmond home Jan. 23 was determined to be an attempted homicide in which a man shot his roommate and then himself, Redmond police announced in a news release Thursday evening.

An investigation found the suspect, Joshua Moore, of Redmond, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Jan. 25, according to a news release.

Police did not identify the roommate in the news release, or include details about their condition or injuries, other than that they were taken by ambulance to St. Charles Bend after the incident, along with Moore. Lt. April Huey with the Redmond Police Department said the death investigation had been referred to the district attorney’s office and declined to provide further details.

Redmond police had responded to a call at 10:34 p.m. on Jan. 23 at a residence in the 1000 block of NW Elm Avenue, northwest of downtown, about a block from John Tuck Elementary School, where they found the two individuals serious injured.
