Watch U.S. House subcommittee meeting in Redmond

The U.S. House Natural Resources subcommittee is holding a field hearing at 10 a.m. on Tuesday in Redmond to discuss the region’s water supply and efforts to balance the needs of agriculture and endangered species.

The Subcommittee on Water, Wildlife and Fisheries will meet at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds.

Oregon Republican Rep. Cliff Bentz, the subcommittee’s chair, will host the panel titled “It All Depends on Water: Examining Efforts to Improve and Protect Central Oregon’s Water Supply.”

The committee will include both Oregon Republicans in the U.S. House, Bentz and Lori Chavez-DeRemer. Also attending are Representatives Jerry Carl, Doug LaMalfa, Celeste Maloy and Dan Newhouse.

Witnesses are expected to include include local tribal leaders, farmers, real estate professionals and county officials.
