Moose fraternity chairman to speak in Redmond

Robert K. Funkey, chairman of the Board for the Moose Fraternity, will speak at 3:30 p.m. at the Redmond Moose Lodge on Oct. 8.

Lodge No. 383, located at 3199 North Highway 97, is part of Funkey’s statewide tour. He was elected as the Moose Fraternity’s chief presiding officer on July 27 by delegates at the Fraternity’s 136th International Convention held in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The Moose organization, with its headquarters in Mooseheart, Ill., comprises nearly 1 million men and women in around 1,300 lodges across the U.S., Canada, and Great Britain.

There are three lodges in Central Oregon alone, including Redmond, Bend and La Pine.
