Cascade Equinox Festival returns with music, creative workshops, experiences

Deep bass and big drops are set to shake the ground this weekend as an electronic dance music festival returns to Redmond for its second edition.
The Cascade Equinox Festival will run from Sept. 20-22 at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds. Around around 35 artists are scheduled to perform each day, ranging from Jungle, CloZee, Sound Tribe Sector 9, Liquid Stranger and Marc Rebillet. Other artists include The Motet, The Floozies, Shook Twins, Wreckno and more.Single day passes are available for $127. Three-day general admission will set you back $345. To get a VIP experience, you will have to cough up an additional $298.
Camping spots are available for festival goers that range from luxurious glamping to a place to park your car. RV spots are available from $249 to $649. Standard car camping costs $159 and premium spots cost $229.
In addition to the music, Cascade Equinox organizers said the festival will also include visual art, immersive experiences and workshops. The workshops are centered around movement, healing, flow arts, music lectures and community. A will offer light activations, dance, mediation as some workshop topics.
A new addition this year is an indoor rollerskating rink, which will feature music from regional artists, skating classes, an arcade bus, vintage-inspired Jazzercise clothing shop and family skate hours.
Guests can also use open-air showers as well as a sauna, cold plunge and massages. There is also a place for children, with educational and traditional activities from the Waldorf School of Bend. Kids 12 years or younger are admitted to the festival for free. Shuttles run from Bend from noon to midnight on the hour for each day of the festival. The cost is $10 each way. The pick up is at 1199 NW Wall St. in Bend. Every car entering festival grounds will be charged a $25 fee.
The festival opens at 11:45 a.m. each day and closes at 4 a.m. for the first two days. The festival closes at 3 a.m. on Monday morning following Sunday’s festivities. The autumnal equinox is Sunday, Sept. 22.
For those wishing to get a head start, a Feast to Festival experience is available Thursday night for $200 per person. The event hosts a five-course meal with wine pairing. Dinner is hosted by Feast Food Company of Redmond.
