Lois Ruth (Cole) Munsell born September 15, 1940, passed away peacefully at home on July 26th, 2024. Lois was born in Artesia, NM to Hylton and Maxine (Brunson) Cole. She married Guy Munsell, in Carlsbad, NM on December 26, 1958. After moving several times, Guy and Lois eventually settled in Oregon to raise their family.
Lois graduated from Carlsbad High School; Eastern Oregon State University with Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Education (magna cum laude); and Boise State University with a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA).
Lois was an avid quilter and would spend many days working on quilts to give to the ones she loved, and her memory will live on in the many quilts she made as gifts for family and friends. She was active in her church and loved the Lord. She was also a long-time volunteer at the Redmond library.
Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband Guy Munsell and her parents.
She is survived by her brothers Ronald Cole and Max Cole. Her children, Donna Hill (Ben), Linda Munsell, David Munsell (Connie), and son-in-law Matthew Pietryka. Grandchildren Samantha Poe, Jennifer Malone, Stephanie Malone, Breanna Langbehn, Jacob Munsell, Jennifer Rogers and Jason Hill, and seven great grandchildren: Benjamin, Chloe, and Amyee Poe, Aidan Roberts, Conner Askavich, Faye Hill, and Katelyn Rogers.
Lois will long live in our hearts and minds, and will be missed by many. Heaven received an angel on July 26th. Our hearts are broken, yet we look forward to the day we will be reunited. Family requests that any gifts or donations should be given to the Redmond Christian Church, Redmond, OR.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on August 9, 2024, at Redmond Christian Church, 536 SW 10th Street, Redmond, OR. Luncheon to follow.
