The Redmond Senior Center, a cherished institution in our community, is celebrating its 75th anniversary. Since its founding in 1949, the center has been a beacon of support and companionship for the elderly residents of Redmond. Over the decades, it has provided a safe haven for seniors to engage in recreational activities, receive essential services, and build lifelong friendships. The center’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our seniors is a testament to its enduring mission and the dedication of its staff and volunteers.

To commemorate this significant milestone, the Redmond Senior Center is hosting a special anniversary weekend filled with festivities. This celebration not only honors the center’s rich history but also aims to bring the community together in recognition of the invaluable contributions of our senior citizens.

A free celebration will begin Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Redmond Senior Center. There will be raffles and prizes as well as beer, wine and appetizers and live music by The Notables.

The party will last into the next day, too. A second concert and celebration is set at the Blacksmith Public House from 2-6 p.m. on Sept. 15. The party will include a lively performance by the Sleepless Truckers, with an opening act by the an up-and-coming favorite, Glenn Lowe. There will also be a raffle and prizes. Tickets are $25, or $100 for VIP access that includes gift bag, special seating and an after-party.

Donations sought from local businesses

As we prepare for this grand celebration, we are reaching out to local businesses for support. Donations are needed for our raffle prizes, and your generous contributions will greatly enhance the festivities. This is an excellent opportunity for businesses to showcase their community spirit and gain visibility among local residents.

You can help by donating items or services. We welcome a variety of prizes, from gift certificates and merchandise to services and experiences. If you cannot drop off your donation, call us, and we will arrange a convenient pick-up time.
