Bruce Warren Wilkenfeldt
March 5, 1942 – June 27, 2024
Bruce Warren Wilkenfeldt, 82, of Redmond, Oregon, died June 27, 2024, after a long and challenging journey with multiple health issues. He was born to John William and Anne Nesbitt Wilkenfeldt on March 5, 1942. He is survived by former spouses Marie Forbush Ensign and Gloria Martin, as well as two children from his first marriage, Erik Wilkenfeldt (and wife Monica Molina) and Lorena Ensign, and four children from his second marriage, Yancy Wilkenfeldt, Jill McCullough (and husband Kale McCullough), Luke Wilkenfeldt (and wife Tara Brewer), and Chance Martin. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Nora Cowle, Joseph Cowle, Kayla Wilkenfeldt, Clark Wilkenfeldt, Ash McCullough, Phoenix McCullough, Kiva McCullough, Bridget McCullough, Fletcher Wilkenfeldt, Knightley McCullough, Alaric McCullough, Marlow Wilkenfeldt, and one great-grandchild, Lyla Ensign.
Bruce was a graduate of Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, New Jersey, was a beloved member of the “Original 11,” and served in the Navy from 1960 to 1962 aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. He was a jack-of-all-trades, enjoying careers in lithography, sales, mail order retail, and ranching.
Bruce loved weekends in the mountains, classic Western movies, road trips, cheesy jokes, and shrimp cocktail. But most of all, he loved striking up conversations with strangers, making new friends, and lending an ear to those in need. Those who knew him were always struck by his kind and gentle heart. He will be sorely missed.
At his request, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Special thanks to everyone at Regency Village at Redmond, Regency Redmond, and Redmond Hospice for their devoted caregiving.
