The evening of May 16 was a night to celebrate art at Sage Elementary in Redmond.

The school hosted students, parents and members of Dry Canyon Arts Association for their annual Sage Elementary School Art Walk.

The event included opportunities to learn about principles of art and famous artists of the past, viewings of student art, interactive art exhibits, and chances to talk to working artists about their creative process. Dry Canyon Art Association artists demonstrated techniques such as painting, wood carving, printmaking, silk painting, acrylic paint pouring, and painting on wood.

Both the artists and the Sage families enjoyed the chance to interact and learn from each other. Students watched owls being carved, liquid acrylics being poured onto a canvas, art prints being pulled, and collages being assembled.
