You might be old —
If you remember that the Brand Restaurant was on Sixth Street before the owners built the new building on Highway North 97.
If you remember that there are three different names on the building that contains the current housing office. The names are Rogers, Lynch and Roberts. But the old ones will remember the two stores no longer were separate.
If you remember that the Odem family owned both the Odem-Medo Drive-In Theatre (where Grocery Outlet and Shari’s is today) and the Odem Walk-In theatre downtown.
If you remember that Gibb’s Pottery was in the Erickson’s Thriftway grocery store.
If you remember the bus from Portland stopped at Mitom’s cafe, straight across from the current Spokesman office.
If you remember that Piggly Wiggly competed with EK Market and Safeway.
If you remember the Redmond Spokesman building was huge (they had the printing presses in the back).
If you remember U.S. National Bank (USBNB) had the beautiful white bank building kitty-corner from the Spokesman office today.
If you remember dairy products from Kilgore’s on Sixth, across from the SCP New Redmond Hotel.
If you remember that Redmond Union High School existed (city hall now).
