The holidays are getting closer and there’s plenty of news to cover as 2023 comes to a close.
Businesses continue to pop up in Redmond with incredible frequency. This week, it’s donuts. MMMMM … donuts!
The new shop on Sixth called Morning Story has a big variety of goodies on its menu, from Japanese crepes to boba tea and paninis. But the donuts look too good to pass up.
A new Redmond boarding house offers a places for dogs to have a sleepover and a vacation of their own. Called Doggievilla Dog Resort, it’s a sister business to the Doggieville Ranch, which has been operating in Deschutes County for years. For $70 a night, pups at Doggievilla can enjoy a beach, play area and cage-free sleeping.
Other stories we’ve worked on are not as playful.
After numerous calls to us (and 9-1-1) from disturbed residence about a mangled body in a southwest Redmond field, we checked it out and are pleased — well, not quite pleased — to report that the body in question is not a deceased person, rather a life-size doll. As of now it’s still out in the field and it’s on private property. Police say its not a criminal matter.
A fentanyl bust is a criminal matter, however. Police allege they found about a half a pound of fentanyl on two Redmond residents after stopping their vehicle about 3 a.m. in Terrebonne.
These are the kinds of stories we hope to keep writing at the Spokesman. To help us continue to celebrate local capitalism and add more local reporters, consider purchasing a subscription either for digital access or home print delivery.
