RootedHomes and Housing Works are moving ahead with yet another housing community in Redmond.

This development will be built off Antler Ave., just west of Dry Canyon near the intersection with SW 17th.

The will include 60 rental units designed as garden-style, walk-up apartment buildings for households earning less than 60% area median income, as well as 16 permanently affordable homeownership units designed as 2- and 3-bedroom duplexes for households earning less than 80% of area income.

It will also be the home for a few commercial buildings, including the offices of Housing Works and RootedHomes. A secondary standalone building could be used as a daycare center, according to Jackie Keogh, executive director at RootedHomes.

The development plan also includes on-site playgrounds, community gardens, parking and more.

David Brandt, executive director of Housing Works, said the organization has committed to moving away from its downtown Redmond branch and into the new development. HousingWorks is currently located at 405 SW 6th.

“Relocating our offices to a modern site will advance economic development by sharing space with other community services — from homebuyers, small businesses, and childcare providers needing a new facility,” said Brandt.

“The Antler Campus will root Housing Works, RootedHomes, and our shared residents to the Redmond community,” said Keogh. “We look forward to transforming this vacant site into an active community space that serves our clients, our growing organizations, and the community need – from housing to childcare.”

Housing Works currently owns the land for the Antler Ave development. Both RootedHomes and Housing Works said they will request state funding in early 2024. If money is secured, construction is expected in fall 2024 residents and finished by the end of 2025.
