Large shop burns down at Crooked River Ranch

No one was injured.

Fire crews were dispatched to the 15000 block of SW Steelhead Rd., at  12:17 p.m. on Sept. 24 to find the 20-by-40-foot shop fully engulfed by fire, and a nearby barn and shed were ablaze as well.

According to a release from Crooked Ranch Fire and & Rescue, fire operations kept the fire from spreading, and limited damage to the barn and shed.

Water tenders were used to supply water for firefighting operations. Crews — including eight career firefighters and seven volunteers — remained on scene until 3:30 p.m. Three enginges and two tenders responded as did crew from Redmond Fire & Rescue, Cloverdale Fire District, the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The shop building and its contents, including numerous motorcycles, were a total loss. The shop itself was estimated at $28,610. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation as of Sept. 25.
