Hillbilly Bash

The Hillbilly Bash, a 21-and-over fundraiser for local charities, returns for the ninth year to the Double J Saloon in Redmond on Friday, Sept. 1.

The party is from 8 p.m. to midnight at the bar and includes live music, a mechanical bull, silent auction, costume contest, drink specials and more. Double J is located at 528 SW 6th in downtown Redmond.

According to employee Mariah Larson, the goal is to collect school supplies and money to purchase back-to-school equipment for local students. Their goal is have enough to buy and fill 100 backpacks that would be delivered to 13 local schools in time for their first day.

Larson said that there will be numerous ways to donate. People can bring cash and gift cards and drop them off on-site. They can also bring school supplies as well. Local breweries — including 10 Barrel and Cascade lakes — donated kegs of beer so every drink purchased goes directly to school supplied. 100 percent of the funds raised at the event will be donated, said Larson.

Each year the Double J chooses a different beneficiary for its annual charity fundraiser.

“This year we chose to give back to the kids in the community that might need a little extra help to get going in the ‘23-’24 school year,” said Larson.
