City of Redmond seeks applicants for new advisory committee

Redmond City Council formed a tourism and lodging advisory committee at their Aug. 22 meeting to inform council on how best to use of city transient lodging tax dollars to fund tourism and tourism-related activities.

The committee will be comprised of seven members representing several categories, including two from a lodging provider, one central business district representative, one from the Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center and three at-large members. Representatives should either live, own property or be employed at a business within Redmond city limits.

The city is currently accepting applications to fill the seats on the new committee, as well as vacancies on other city committees and commissions. There are currently open seats on the airport committee, bicycle and pedestrian advisory committee, budget committee, downtown urban renewal advisory committee, historic landmarks commission, housing and community development committee, Juniper golf committee and parks committee.
