- Fourth of July parade
Hello readers! Hope you all survived the holiday weekend with all your fingers still attached.
Thanks to all the visitors to the Spokesman office during the Fourth of July parade. One of the benefits of our office is that it’s easy to be part of downtown parades, and Harrison McKinney brought out an old newsboy costume to take part in the patriotic fun.
We hope print subscribers enjoyed two things in the holiday Redmond Spokesman, including a full-page of comics and puzzles.
Some of the most consistent feedback we’ve received since we brought back the paper is how much people missed a funny, consistent comics page. And they wanted more room to do their crosswords and work out their sudoku.
For a lot of subscribers, the comics and puzzles are their favorite part of the print product. Its a great memory of the Sunday comics for many of our — shall I say, our more “experienced” readers. And it offers some throwback, retro nostalgia for younger folks who live the most of their lives in a digital world.
Let us know what you think about it. If something doesn’t look right or play right — or you think there are other ways to improve the page — send me an email at ttrainor@redmondspokesman.com.
If you crack a smile or get stumped by a fun puzzle, let us know about that, too. Good feedback (though exceedingly rare these days!) can be helpful, too, and can help ensure something you like remains part of the paper going forward.
We also printed a full-page American flag, which proved a big hit on the parade route. Feel free to clip out and add to your window, too.
Consider an annual subscription to the Spokesman at less than $1 a week. Call 541-923-1370 or go to redmondspokesman.com and we’ll get you signed up for home delivery or web access an affordable price. That’s the best way to support our work and stay informed about your community. We couldn’t do this without your help.
