Fire damages Jody’s in Redmond

A fire caused heavy damage to a longtime Redmond restaurant.
According to Redmond Fire & Rescue, a structure fire at Jody’s Drive Inn, 807 SW 14th St., was reported about 4:30 a.m. on July 5. No one was reported injured and the building was unoccupied at the time fire crews responded.
When crews arrive, a large part of the building was already engulfed and crews saw “heavy fire visible through the roof of the building,” according to Redmond Fire. Emergency crews closed nearby roads to allow firefighters to battle the blaze.
Fire investigators spent Wednesday and Thursday at the restaurant to conduct interviews and process the scene. As of July 7, cause of the fire was under investigation.
Redmond Police and ODOT helped with traffic management.
