Redmond man injured in e-bike crash; motorcyclist left scene

A 52-year-old Redmond man riding an e-bike was injured Thursday afternoon after he crashed downtown.
According to the Redmond Police Department, at roughly 12:17 p.m. on June 22, the victim was riding the electric bike south on Canal Blvd. to the intersection of SW Quartz. The bicyclist then braked to avoid a motorcycle, which was heading east on SW Quartz, according to police.
The bicyclist crashed due to the hard stop. He faced serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transferred to St. Charles, Redmond. According to police, he was not wearing a helmet.
The motorcycle rider left the accident scene. Redmond PD is still investigating the identity of the motorcyclist and the cause of the crash.
