School is out and the sun is shining. That means the return of the the Redmond Farmers Market is right around the corner.
The market returns to Centennial Park in downtown Redmond from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, June 15. It will operate each Thursday afternoon through Sept. 14.
This summer’s vendors include plant and flower vendors, meat-and-cheese shops, specialty food and wine sellers, arts and crafts, a healing and wellness vendor and four nonprofit groups.
“This year, we have a much larger and robust selection of produce, microgreens, organic/heirloom seeds and starts, floral seafood, meat and cheeses,” said Lesley Gimeno, director of the Redmond Farmers Market. “We also have some artisan favorites such as pottery and jewelry. My goal is to bring the community together to celebrate healthy living.”
All products on offer at the market are locally grown or locally made, according to Gimeno.
Guests should keep an eye out for food trucks that will be parked at the market for the first time, including Kona Ice, and a Greek food truck.
Each week, a new singer or band will join to offer live music. All performers are local to Central Oregon.
The Redmond Farmers Market will provide an additional 5% discount off all food for SNAP, WIC and OHP recipients. SNAP participants will be able to use their EBT cards on breads, cereals, fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, poultry, dairy products, seeds and plants at the market.
