Rejoice, adventurous eaters and lovers of cased meats.
Bangers & Brews, a popular brat and sausage restaurant with an Argentinian flair, is set to open a new Redmond location next month. It will be located south of downtown at 827 SW 7th St, in the building that formerly housed Hutch’s Bicycles.
The restaurant will specialize in a range of sausages made with different meats and covered in international toppings. They will also also serve beer, cider and wine from taps and bottles.
It’s a similar menu to the other two Bangers and Brews locations in Portland and Bend.
Locals franchisees Matt Bardy and Samantha Saville are behind the project. They said they plan to hire about 12-20 employees, both in full-time and part-time roles, to staff it.
Bardy said their goal was to create a family-friendly atmosphere. The restaurant will prioritize space for large families and events and include a dog-friendly patio. They will also offer some specialized menu items unique to Redmond, such as cheese curds and some additional gluten-free and vegan options.
A Wisconsin native, Bardy said the restaurant will be especially welcoming to Green Bay Packers fans, and not just with the cheese curds. Bardy said the decor will celebrate his favorite team, and the upstairs space will be turned over to football watch parties on Sundays during the season. That space will be used the rest of the year for trivia, comedy and other activities.
“We really want to cater to families, we want to be a place that anyone can come and want to give back to the city of Redmond,” said Bardy.
He said the restaurant plans a soft opening sometime in mid-June, followed by a grand opening party in July.
“I know Redmond is a great community, full of people who want to give back and do good,” said Bardy. “It’s got that warm and cozy hometown feeling.”
