Arzaga: Watchdog for Central Oregon way of life

Published 1:30 pm Wednesday, May 10, 2023

Aloha! Louie Arzaga here, running for Redmond Area Park and Recreation District (RAPARD) Director Position #5.

I love being a business systems engineer who creates joyful working environments by collaborating with everyone from the streets-to-the-suites and the boots-to-the-boardroom, to reduce or remove redundant administrative policies and procedures.

It’s fun for me to craft with business owners and their associates, unique, innovative, and sometimes proprietary hardware, software and peopleware systems that reaps a higher tangible and intangible return on investment for all involved. Rewards like getting them all out of work on time to get to soccer, football, baseball and basketball games and the multitude of worldclass outdoor family activities, while serving and producing more, with less effort and minimal resources.

I look forward to doing what I do every day for the great people of Central Oregon and RAPARD, which is bringing people together who have different perspectives and even opposing goals to discuss and come up with viable action plans to empower people, staff, department heads and directors to engage in meaningful, value-added roles to keep taxes low, community involvement high, and create safe, secure places for family fun, and other areas to release “yayas” for youths and 55-year-old seniors like me.

Our everyday lives are better than most people’s best vacations.

I need your vote to be your watchdog to keep it that way. Please reach out at Louie.Arzaga@gmail.com so we can schedule to talk in person or to just share your thoughts. I look forward to hearing your ideas, because only you know what you want.

How do I identify myself?

— As a born-again Christian husband married to my beautiful bride for 21 years.

— Father of two extreme sports boys, 16 and 12. Video proof on my website: www.louiearzaga.com.

— American and Filipino. I am not hyphenated, but a best of both worlds — hybrid ampersand — in that order, because my grandfather belongs to the Great Generation who fought in World War II for the United States and was a POW. He served our great country and the republic for which it stands, so his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren could access the God given, inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

— Conservationist who is all about conserving and preserving our natural resources, as well as our environments of economics, government, people’s rights, language, food and culture.

— Director of the nonprofit Hawaiian Fighting Arts.

— Undergraduate at UCLA in sociological statistics, UCLA surf team captain, UCLA intramural sports finance committee member and a two-year UCLA UNI camp counselor for 10-12 year old at-promise males.

— Double masters degrees concurrently in CalPoly, San Luis Obispo’s city and regional planning program in land use and transportation, in addition to their MBA program in finance and marketing.

— Real estate construction and development experience with medical offices to affordable, infill, multi-family housing within the inner-city.
