Letter: Rouse for Redmond parks district seat

Published 12:45 am Tuesday, May 9, 2023

The Redmond Area Park & Recreation District comprises a large area, far beyond the city limits of Redmond. It provides facilities and programming for youth sports, children to adult recreation programs, and community interest opportunities. It’s also in the planning and development of a large community recreation center.

David Rouse is running for Position 4 on the RAPRD. He is a retired civil engineer and former city of Gresham environmental services director, responsible for providing parks and recreation services and public works functions. His experience in parks master planning, development, maintenance, capital planning and budgeting would serve the district well.

The district is serving more than 80,000 potential users from Terrebonne to Tumalo, and west of Eagle Crest to the east. The district needs are changing, and many new programs and opportunities should be considered. With the knowledge, skills, and experience of David Rouse at Position 4, he would be a tremendous asset to the District. Please vote.
