With all of the amazing resources Redmond school district has to offer, why are student performance scores low? First and foremost a proper education starts with getting back to the basics. Third grade, for example, students should be proficient in math, reading and writing.
Students should be learning at their own individual level via hands-on, engaging, career oriented lessons. These lessons will allow students to gain pride in success. Teachers, parents, and our community understands this. By working together we will get back to the basics through student mastery.
Being born in Redmond, a parent of two elementary aged children, and a lifelong volunteer in Redmond, I am a vested community member. While working in the public school system over the past twelve years, I have gained a deep understanding of how the system works.

Most recently, I have been working in the classroom as an agriculture science and technology teacher/FFA advisor. I have an agriculture business degree from Oregon State University and a strong background in business management through management of agricultural land and agriculture production. I also have experience managing an ATV sales and repair business.
My background in business management, classroom teaching experience, and volunteer leadership roles, I will be the best choice to represent Redmond School District for position #5. I will serve by negotiating policies and maintaining fiscal responsibilities that represent the very best educational opportunities for our students.
Top items of importance are parental rights in education, transparency in education, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment, fiscal responsibility, and serving all children regardless of background. By focusing on these common sense items, education will be top priority.
Students need schools that focus on the basics. Teaching our children to think for themselves while respecting our laws, individual circumstances, values and liberties is vital. Our success lies in prioritizing what is most important to impact and empower our children for a future that results in a productive member of society.
