From the editor’s desk: Reindeer and rocks

We continue to push out lots of content here at the Redmond Spokesman, running the gamut from reindeer to rocks to parking lots.

I hope you caught Nick Rosenberger’s story on the memorable ranch just outside of town that brought lots of Christmas memories to Central Oregon. There’s new plans for the old home to a herd of reindeer, which is now sans ungulates.

Speaking of beloved memories of Central Oregon gone by, Joe Siess stopped by the Petersen Rock Garden recently to update the public on updates on the roadside attraction. The rock garden has seen better days, but the new owners say they plan to stabilize some of the old attractions and invite the public back in soon. See a bunch of photos from the site online.

The March 28 Redmond city council meeting was a doozy. We captured the work that got done, which included a price hike for parking at the Redmond Airport. But what had everyone talking afterward was a tense discussion during the public comment section of the meeting. You can watch it here. Councilor Clifford Evelyn wrote about his perspective on the dustup here.
