Art night warms up Sage Elementary

On a snowy night Feb. 22, art lovers of all ages descended on Sage Elementary School for their annual art night.

Parents and students spread throughout the halls, surveying a wondrous sight of colorful art prepared by student classrooms, each adopting a different artist to emulate.

Working with Sage Elementary, the Dry Canyon Arts Association was delighted to bring some of their artists on premise to display and educate students on art creation, inspiration, and technique.

The event was an opportunity to open a dialogue between established artists, student artists and supportive parents.

Dry Canyon Arts Association is working to encourage young people to engage in the arts and has recently begun partnering with high schools in Redmond to recruit artists for the DCAA First Friday Art Walk.

“We are so excited to welcome all these new young people into our community of artists,” said Mel Archer, chair of Dry Canyon Arts Association.
