2023! It sounds like a year a science fiction movie would be set in, yet here we are living in it.
I hope your year is off to a great start. Here’s some thing we have been working on.
First, we’re looking into problems at the post offices both in Redmond and Terrebonne. Home delivery has been behind schedule, especially during the busy holiday season, and the Postal Service just can’t fill a lot of empty mail carrier jobs in both locations. After this week’s piece, we plan to follow up on how mail delivery has affected area residents. Let us know how it is affecting you by emailing reporter Nick Rosenberger at nrosenberger@redmondspokesman.com.
We’ve got lots of fun stories this week, too, including sports tales about Redmond High basketball and a local superstar wrestler. There’s also a piece about an exhilarating hike at Smith Rock and a cool new business back in operation just outside our backyard state park.
We’ve got a number of important local stories as well. It includes a suspecting shooting on the east side of town, an icy crash on Airport Way and a local school board resignation. That means four of the five seats on the board will now be on the ballot in May, a possible sea change for the Redmond School District. Tons more can be found on our website and in the print edition — including our popular Truck of the Week feature and the always popular police log, which is in print only.
We remind you that news gathering is a community endeavor. We cannot do it without you. At The Spokesman, always open to feedback, story ideas, criticism and celebration.
