- A crowd gathers at the Redmond Spokesman office, 361 SW Sixth, for the Redmond Chamber of Commerce's coffee clatter event.
Last Friday was an exciting day for the Spokesman as we held a ribbon cutting at our new office, 361 SW Sixth Street in downtown Redmond. It’s at the intersection of Sixth and Deschutes, right next door to the Odem Theater.
It was great to see a lot of folks from our business community show support for our growing organization. And it was fun to give our spiel about why a local newspaper is critical to a healthy community and the democratic process. Thanks again to all who turned up. We’re excited to be a part of the downtown core and cover news from all around Redmond.
But we aren’t the only operation hosting a party this weekend. There are TONS of options from locals looking to find some fun before the weather turns toward fall and, close behind, winter.
Some options for you: R’Oktoberfest in downtown Redmond, a battle of the bands out at Crooked River Ranch, an amazing group of local quilters, a cyclocross race out the Deschutes County Fairgrounds and a slackline festival out at Smith Rock. Keep an eye out for next week’s edition for draw-dropping photos from the event, where people dangle from the highest peaks at the park.
As always, we cannot do this without your support. Subscriptions — both print and digital — help us pay our employees and provide more coverage of the community. To subscribe, click here.
