According to preliminary data received by NOAA’s National Weather Service in Pendleton, temperatures at the Redmond airport averaged slightly warmer than normal during the month of January 2022.

The average temperature was 37.6 degrees which was 2.8 degrees warmer than the normal average temperature for this month. High temperatures averaged 49.4 degrees with the high of 63 degrees being recorded on Jan. 23. Low temperatures averaged 25.7 degrees with the low of 0 degrees being recorded on Jan. 1.

There were 24 days when the low temperature was below 32 degrees and one day with a low temperature below 0 degrees. The airport also reported two days when the high temperature was less than 32 degrees.

Precipitation was slightly below normal during January, totaling 0.73 inches, which was 0.25 inches below normal. Precipitation of at least .01 inch was reported on one day. The heaviest amount of precipitation was 0.61 inches, which was reported on Jan. 3.
