A Redmond-area man was hospitalized and cited Jan. 28 after allegedly stripping down to his underwear and running around the Redmond Fred Meyer store while impaired by drug use, according to a Redmond Police news release.
Witnesses told police that George Ryan Gove, 37, was speaking gibberish and making large animated hand movements while running around the store and parking lot, scaring a “significant number” of people, police said.
Police found Gove lying face down in the intersection of SW Highland Avenue and SW 5th Street, police said. Gove was making strange movements and blocking traffic, police said.
Gove was arrested and placed in a restraining device and released to the care of hospital staff at St. Charles Redmond, police said. He was issued a citation on second-degree disorderly conduct and criminal trespass charges, police said.
Police remind people struggling with drug addiction and their families that resources are available from the county and state health departments.
